Aurel Garza-Tucker

Aurel Garza-Tucker began her work with Young Texas Artists in November of 2022, after working with the Austin Chamber Music Center for seven years following the conclusion of her music studies. Her experience as an arts administrator and Teaching Assistant in college impressed on her the importance of music education and led her to pursue a full-time career in arts administration. Aurel loves that her job enables her to work closely with emerging and professional artists while allowing her to experience new musical adventures on a daily basis.

Garza-Tucker, a bassoonist, plays with various ensembles in Austin and maintains a small private lesson studio. She is a board member of the Austin Civic Orchestra, currently serving as Vice President and Director of the Diversity Committee. She is also a board member for line upon line percussion. In her free time, Garza-Tucker enjoys baking, crafting, and being out in nature with her pups Imelda and Pinto. Aurel holds a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Louisiana State University where she studied with Gabriel Beavers and a Master of Music Performance degree from The Florida State University where she studied with Jeff Keesecker.
