Susie Moore Pokorski has provided leadership and support for the arts in Montgomery County and the Houston region for over 35 years. With a background in marketing and wholesale distribution, she has served on numerous local and national boards, many associated with volunteering and the arts.
She was honored by the Greater Conroe Arts Alliance with their inaugural Visionary Award in 2012 for her exceptional contributions to the arts community. A lifelong resident of Conroe, she was named Conroe’s Citizen of the Year for 2023. Promoting the fine arts and supporting and encouraging talented young musicians has always resonated strongly with Pokorski, who has served at the helm of Young Texas Artists (YTA) since 1998. YTA is best known for presenting the Young Texas Artists Music Competition, an official music competition of Texas. She is married to YTA’s founder, James Pokorski.
She is also active with the Greater Conroe Arts Alliance, Conroe Cultural District Advisory Board, the Conroe Visual and Performing Arts Steering Committee, Chamber of Commerce Non-Profit Roundtable, and has served on the Education Outreach Committee of The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council, the distribution committee of Montgomery County Community Foundation, the Conroe Main Street board and has contributed her time and support to the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society, Conroe Downtown Area Association, Conroe Symphony Orchestra, Montgomery County Choral Society, Houston Grand Opera, The Heritage Museum, The Salvation Army and First United Methodist Church.
